Additional Conditions We Treat

Molluscum contagiosum – Molluscum contagiousum is a common viral infection of the skin that results in round, firm, painless bumps that can range in size from patient to patient. It is most commonly found in children.
Alopecia / Hair loss – Alopecia can be caused by a variety of factors. A biopsy of the scalp and/or blood testing is sometimes performed to aid in diagnosis.
Autoimmune connective tissue disorders / Cutaneous lupus – Cutaneous lupus is an autoimmune connective tissue disorder that attacks the skin. Cutaneous lupus causes rashes and sores, and often appears on the face, ears, neck, arms and legs due to sun exposure.
Birthmark / Hemangioma of Infancy – Birthmarks are an irregularity on the skin, which is usually apparent at birth or develops within the first few months of life. Hemangiomas are noncancerous growths that can be found on the skin or even internal organs. These growths tend to slowly disappear by the age of 10 (individual patient experiences may vary).
Blistering disorders – Blistering conditions may be associated with autoimmune or genetic conditions, and deserve a thorough evaluation.
Cysts – There are a variety of cysts associated with the skin, and most are harmless and painless. Removal may be indicated if cysts become enlarged or symptomatic.
Cold sores – Cold sores are a common viral infection and are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV). Although often painful and embarrassing, a variety of treatments are available.
Dry skin & Keratosis pilaris – Dry skin is a common condition which often worsens during winter months. Dry skin can also lead to keratosis pilaris, which are small, rough white or red bumps that do not itch nor hurt.
Hives / Urticaria – Hives are itchy, red swellings of the skin that quickly come and go. They can also include a burning or stinging sensation. A variety of conditions including allergies and infections may cause hives.
Hyperhidrosis – hyperhidrosis is a medical term for excessive sweating.
Skin infections – Common skin infections include: bacterial (cellulitis and impetigo), viral (shingles, warts and herpes simplex), fungal (athlete’s foot) and parasitic (body lice, head lice and scabies).
Rashes – Rashes are not a specific diagnosis and typically describe an outbreak of skin inflammation and discoloration that changes the way skin looks and feels. Common rashes include eczema, poison ivy and heat rash.
Nail disorders – Nail disorders make up about 10 percent of all dermatological conditions, in which fungal infections account for half of those. Other common nail problems include: white spots after an injury, vertical lines known as splinter hemorrhages, bacterial infections and ingrown nails.
Vitiligo – Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disease that causes the loss of color in patches. Its severity is unpredictable and can affect the skin on any part of the body.
Itching / Pruritus – Itching, also known as pruritus, can be associated with a number of disorders, including dry skin, skin diseases and pregnancy.
Melasma / Irregular skin pigmentation – Melasma, an irregular darkening of skin pigmentation, is a common skin problem. It can be triggered by sun exposure.
Severe dandruff / Seborrheic dermatitis – Seborrheic dermatitis is a skin condition that causes scaly patches, red skin and stubborn dandruff on the scalp or face.
Seborrheic keratosis – Seborrheic keratosis are common noncancerous skin growths that usually occur in older adults. It usually appears as a brown, black or light tan growth anywhere on the skin surface except for the palms and soles.
