Hattiesburg Clinic Recognized for United Way Contributions

The United Way of Southeast Mississippi held its Annual Meeting & Thank You Banquet on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The United Way hosts the event every year to say thank you to the organizations that raise money for the United Way and its partner agencies.  It also gives individuals the opportunity to learn about the positive impact their donations to United Way made for our communities. Attendees enjoyed breakfast together as local businesses were recognized for their contributions.

Hattiesburg Clinic received the Pacesetter Award and Silver Award at this year’s banquet. The Pacesetter award is presented to each campaign pacesetter company. These companies agree to conduct their workplace campaign starting in August to set the pace for the general campaign that begins in September. The Silver Award is based on the overall percentage of participation, leadership giving and the average gift amount.

United Way of Southeast Mississippi (UWSEMS) is a local nonprofit organization that strives to make a positive impact in Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry Counties. The organization provides financial assistance to local partnering agencies and addresses community issues in the four impact areas of education, economic mobility, health and support services. Every donation made to UWSEMS helps support 20 partner agencies in the Pine Belt. Hattiesburg Clinic physicians and employees directly impacted these communities by signing up to give monetarily through workplace giving.

“It’s such an honor to be part of an amazing organization [Hattiesburg Clinic] that chooses to collaborate with United Way for the benefit of our own communities,” Shameika Donaldson, Hattiesburg Clinic employee and United Way board and community outreach committee member, said. “You can be assured that United Way has our communities’ best interests at heart when determining how every donated dollar is used.”
