Hattiesburg Clinic’s laboratory collects blood and specimen samples in order to perform various diagnostic testing and screenings. Clinical laboratory scientists perform a variety of laboratory tests, ensure the quality of the test results, explain the significance of laboratory tests, evaluate new methods and study the effectiveness of laboratory tests.

A lab test involves a medical professional collecting a sample of blood, tissue or other biological matter from the patient. The specimen is then sent to the laboratory, where it is analyzed. This helps physicians and providers in implementing diagnosis and treatment for patients.
