Dr. Schwartz Awarded Pioneer of the Year by the Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter
Please join us in congratulating Ronald L. Schwartz, MD, CPI, with Hattiesburg Clinic Memory Center and Hattiesburg Clinic Neurology, recipient of the Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter Pioneer of the Year award. This honor recognizes Dr. Schwartz’s leadership and commitment to advancing care, research and support for individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease across Mississippi.
Schwartz serves as Principal Investigator for clinical trials in both Alzheimer’s and Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) populations. He is also the founder of disentangleAD, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting caregivers by providing financial support to individuals caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease.
Through his dedication to early diagnosis, innovative treatment approaches and participation in clinical research, his work continues to strengthen the resources available to patients and caregivers throughout the state. Upon receiving the award, Schwartz shared his perspective on how rapidly the field of Alzheimer’s care is evolving:
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association with the Pioneer of Year award. The landscape of Alzheimer’s care has evolved significantly over the past few years. Diagnostic testing is now readily available for early disease, including blood tests and PET scans. Amyloid targeting therapies are able to clear plaque from brains. Early diagnosis is the key to bending the curve and slowing down (or even halting) a progressive, neurodegenerative disease. Our Memory Center team has been actively involved in all aspects of AD management including clinical trials, neurocognitive assessment and ambulatory infusions. Neurology is in a new era of Alzheimer’s care and there are still many more advances on the horizon.”
The Pioneer of the Year award highlights individuals whose work has made a lasting impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Congratulations to Dr. Schwartz on this well-deserved recognition and for his continued dedication to improving lives through innovation, research and compassionate care.
