Reynolds Earns Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification
Recently, Lauren M. Reynolds, PT, DPT, PCES, with Hattiesburg Clinic Physical Rehabilitation – Tatum Park, earned a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist certification, a distinction that reflects advanced training in caring for women during and after pregnancy.
This certification focuses on the safe and effective design of corrective exercise programs for prenatal and postpartum patients. It signifies that Reynolds has completed rigorous training focused on understanding the physical changes that occur during pregnancy, the complications that may arise and how to help patients recover safely after delivery. Additionally, this certification equips Reynolds to help patients return to higher-intensity activities, such as running or other forms of exercise, with a safe and progressive approach.
Reynolds is able to address issues such as urinary leakage, diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and pelvic organ prolapse. She is also trained to treat musculoskeletal concerns commonly experienced during pregnancy, including pubic symphysis dysfunction, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain and low back pain.
Reynolds works with patients to create individualized corrective exercises tailored to each patient’s stage of pregnancy, making modifications as they progress through each trimester. For postpartum patients, whether recovering from vaginal or cesarean delivery, she offers structured exercises and techniques to restore strength, stability and function.
“I pursued this certification because I want to provide women with the knowledge and tools to safely navigate pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Every patient deserves a personalized care plan that fits their needs, and I’m happy to work with these women so they can confidently return to the activities they love,” Reynolds said.
By earning this specialized certification, Reynolds brings an added level of expertise to the care she provides and ensures women receive targeted, evidence-based support throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
