Meet Lisa G. Dabbs, DNP, PMHNP, ANP

Since joining Hattiesburg Clinic in 2022, Lisa G. Dabbs, DNP, PMHNP, ANP, has brought a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to her role as a nurse practitioner with Hattiesburg Clinic Psychiatry – Lincoln Center. With extensive education and experience in psychiatric care, Dabbs is dedicated to helping patients navigate their mental health journeys with dignity and compassion.

At Psychiatry – Lincoln Center, Dabbs works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients of all ages. Her role includes conducting evaluations, developing and managing treatment plans, prescribing and monitoring medications, and offering supportive therapy. She emphasizes evidence-based care and takes pride in improving quality of life for her patients.

“I most enjoy the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships with patients,” she said. “Helping patients regain a sense of hope, stability and control in their lives is what makes this work so fulfilling.”

She also speaks highly of her team at the clinic. “We all get along really well and have our patients’ best interests at heart,” Dabbs said. “I love our little department.”

Since joining Hattiesburg Clinic, Dabbs has continued to strengthen her clinical skills, particularly in assessment, diagnosis and medication management. She values the continuity of care the clinic setting provides and credits her growth, both personal and professional, to the resilience she has witnessed in her patients.

Originally from Ripley, Miss., Dabbs was raised near New Albany and later lived in Tupelo and Laurel before settling in Hattiesburg in 2021. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Miss.; her Master of Science in nursing from South University in Savannah, Ga.; her Doctor of Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala.; and a Post Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

Outside of work, she has discovered a new passion: watercolor painting. “My son gave me supplies for Christmas in 2024 and I fell in love,” she said. “I could paint for hours.” Dabbs also enjoys spending time with her husband Richard, who won her heart with his bass playing, and their close-knit family which includes three sons and two daughters-in-law.

Whether through her clinical expertise or her compassionate presence, Dabbs continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients at Hattiesburg Clinic.
