Hospital Care Service Welcomes Rafael de Oliveira Cavalcante, MD
Rafael de Oliveira Cavalcante, MD, recently joined Hattiesburg Clinic Hospital Care Service, where he provides care for patients in the hospital.
Dr. Cavalcante received his medical degree from Universidade Federal do Ceará in Fortaleza, CE, Brazil. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford in Bedford, Texas.
At Hospital Care Service, he provides care for patients in the hospital. He monitors their condition, orders and interprets diagnostic tests and adjusts treatment plans as needed. He also coordinates a patient’s hospital care with his or her primary care physician to ensure the patient receives timely and effective care and has a smooth transition back to outpatient treatment.
“I like the ability to work in most areas of medicine and to offer comfort during difficult times,” Cavalcante said.
