Helping our community to ease the impact of Alzheimer’s
Hattiesburg Clinic is proud to sponsor the eighth annual disentangleAD Caregiver’s Conference. This year’s conference will be hosted at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church, located at 2420 Hardy Street, in Hattiesburg. The conference will be held on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
disentangleAD is a non-profit organization that supports the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease in South Mississippi. In addition to providing additional funding through financial grants for caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementia syndromes, disentangleAD serves as an educational resource for caregivers. The organization was founded by Ronald L. Schwartz, MD, CPI, a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Neurology and Hattiesburg Clinic Memory Center.
“Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease can be overwhelming, and education is one of the best ways to ease that burden,” Dr. Schwartz said. “This conference is designed to connect caregivers with the latest information, resources and community support that can make a real difference in their daily lives.”
Schwartz is one of the featured speakers at the Caregiver Conference. Other speakers include Beverly G. Windham, MD, with the MIND Center; Janie Walters, MS, with Champion Communications; Angela Davis-Morris, Esq., with Davis Morris Law Firm; and Tessie Reed, daughter and advocate.
This year’s conference will be broken into six sessions featuring the above speakers. Each session will include Alzheimer’s disease education and community resource information. Lunch will be provided.
New to the conference this year is the Lived Experience Panel, where people living with mild Alzheimer’s disease will share their personal experiences and what they wish others knew.
“We want every caregiver to leave feeling supported and better prepared for the challenges they face,” Schwartz said. “Together, we can create a stronger network of knowledge and compassion for families living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.”
