The team at Hattiesburg Clinic The Poplarville Clinic is dedicated to providing primary care for patients of all ages. With a focus on accessible, patient-centered care, the department works to meet the health needs of individuals and families throughout the community.
The clinic provides a range of services designed to make care convenient for patients. In addition to primary care visits, the team offers on-site lab and X-ray services, and pulmonary function testing. With 14 staff members and four physicians working together, the department strives to ensure patients receive coordinated, comprehensive care close to home.
The Poplarville Clinic team takes pride in the community they have built within their department. Staff members often find ways to bring creativity and laughter into the workday. Friendly competitions, such as decorating turkeys or hosting Easter egg decorating contests that patients can vote on, give patients a chance to join in on the fun when they visit the clinic.
Humor also plays a role in the clinic’s culture. A “joke of the week” posted in the office offers a lighthearted moment for both staff and patients. One recent favorite: “What did the doctor say to the rocket ship? It is time for your booster shot!”
Beyond the fun traditions, the team describes their workplace as a close-knit group that genuinely cares for one another. From celebrating birthdays and baby showers to supporting coworkers during difficult times, employees at The Poplarville Clinic make an effort to look out for each other.
Juanita Aponte, RN, shared that working in the department has shown her how deeply the team values both patient care and supporting one another. She noted the group works together with a shared commitment to helping others and making every member of the team feel welcomed and appreciated.
That same spirit carries over into their care for patients. The team’s goal is not only to provide quality medical care but also to create an environment where people feel valued and supported and are treated like family.
