Meet the Connections and Psychology & Counseling Social Committee

At Hattiesburg Clinic Connections and Hattiesburg Clinic Psychology & Counseling, the social committee plays an important role in keeping spirits high and building camaraderie among staff. This group ensures that employees feel recognized, celebrated and supported throughout the year.

The committee is dedicated to organizing events and activities that bring people together. From milestone celebrations and baby showers to potlucks, parties and drives, the social committee makes sure no occasion goes unnoticed. Recent projects include a school supply drive for patients and the creation of a Random Acts of Kindness Program, both designed to give back in meaningful ways.

Meeting once a month and more frequently during busy seasons, the committee is made up of six volunteer staff members along with the occasional provider sponsor. Their work highlights not only the value of teamwork but also the importance of recognizing individual contributions. One of their signature programs is selecting an internal Employee of the Quarter from the Connections and Psychology & Counseling teams, honoring those who go above and beyond for patients and colleagues while exemplifying Hattiesburg Clinic’s values.

Food is another way the committee fosters connection. Whether it is the “Every Other Third Thursday Potluck,” the “Birthday Cake Club” or a well-stocked snack table, their motto remains the same: “No one wants to work hangry!”

The social committee is more than just a group. It is a source of encouragement, recognition and fun. With creativity, dedication and a good sense of humor, they are proof that a little celebration can go a long way in strengthening a team.
