Hattiesburg Clinic Continues Title Sponsorship of Hattiesburg Half Marathon

For the fourth consecutive year, Hattiesburg Clinic will serve as the title sponsor of the Hattiesburg Half Marathon/10k/5k, continuing its long-standing support of community health and wellness initiatives across the Pine Belt. The 14th annual race is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, and will once again bring runners from across the region and beyond to downtown Hattiesburg while supporting local nonprofit organizations.

Hattiesburg Clinic Chief Executive Officer Bryan N. Batson, MD, emphasized the importance of the clinic’s continued involvement.

“Hattiesburg Clinic is proud to support an event that brings people together while benefiting organizations that serve our community every day,” Dr. Batson said. “Sponsoring the Hattiesburg Half Marathon reflects our commitment to promoting health, encouraging active lifestyles and investing in initiatives that strengthen the communities we serve.”

The Hattiesburg Half Marathon has a long-standing tradition of giving back. Proceeds from the 2026 race will benefit seven Pine Belt nonprofit organizations: The Arc Southeast MSThe Children’s Center for Communication and DevelopmentThe DuBard School for Language DisordersHattiesburg Alliance for Public ArtKuntry KidzPinebelt Blueways and Southern Pines Animal Shelter.

The event continues to draw strong participation from outside the local area. With registration capped at 1,500 participants, nearly half of runners in this sold-out race travel from beyond a 50-mile radius, further highlighting the marathon’s regional impact and reach.

Participant safety remains a priority throughout race weekend. The sports medicine team from Hattiesburg Clinic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has supported the event since its inception in 2012, working alongside the City of Hattiesburg and local emergency response teams to provide medical coverage along the race route.

“We are proud to continue providing medical support for an event that has become such an important part of our community,” Shawn Fayard, LAT, ATC, assistant manager of Hattiesburg Clinic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, said. “Our athletic trainers, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants and physicians will be stationed throughout the course to assist runners as needed, helping ensure a safe experience for everyone involved.”
