Children’s Services Overview
Hattiesburg Clinic offers a variety of services for children and adolescents, including learning assessments, mental health evaluations and treatment services. Our goal is to provide personalized care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Evaluations are completed by clinical psychologists to determine psychological needs, which may include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, Autism spectrum disorder or other possible mental health conditions. Evaluations conducted by our certified speech-language pathologists are also available to determine the presence of speech, language and learning disorders, such as dyslexia. Kindergarten readiness evaluations are available for preschool students to provide parents and teachers a snapshot of the child’s abilities (social, physical, emotional and learning) before entering grade school.
Parent consultations are included in our evaluation procedures to ensure understanding of the patient’s needs. Recommendations are made for a plan of care for home and school.
Medication management begins with a physical consultation and includes follow-up visits with patients through college. This is provided for ADHD and other related problems by our team of medical doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Counseling and behavior therapy is available for behavioral and emotional needs.
Speech-language therapy services are provided on a limited basis.
