Leah B. Rock, MD, and her Richton Family Medicine team recently attended the 2023 Perry County Community Health & Wellness Fair.
The primary goal of this event is to encourage a healthy lifestyle and inform the community of the the vast resources Perry County General Hospital and neighboring clinics and businesses have to offer. This is the second year Richton Family Medicine attended the event – nearly 300 people attended.
“The health fair is a wonderful opportunity to meet people in my community and learn more about community resources,” Rock said.
This year the organizers incorporated additional local businesses and organizations to highlight a sense of community collaboration. In addition to health care, EMS services, community churches, law enforcement, therapy services and local resource vendors were in attendance to promote their respective businesses and organizations.
The Perry County Community Health & Resource Fair is a free event hosted by Perry County General Hospital in partnership with the Southern Mississippi Planning & Development District and Mississippi Long-term Care Ombudsman, a service of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
