Meet James Terrell with Information Systems

The Information Systems (IS) department at Hattiesburg Clinic plays a vital role in the organization’s success by ensuring smooth operations and technological integration. This month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on James Terrell, one of our exceptional IS employees, whose dedication and expertise demonstrate the department’s commitment to excellence.

Terrell, who has been a member of the IS team for three years, is responsible for monitoring the server systems that are utilized by the clinic’s Epic software. In his role as Epic Client Systems Administrator, he ensures that websites, services, printing and communications between organizations are all functioning properly. Furthermore, he coordinates between the Epic department and other teams in IS to ensure the continuous operation of clinical systems and various functions required by providers and staff.

Terrell’s tenure has been marked by significant professional and personal growth, as well as the opportunity to develop his skills within the unique framework of his job. “I have gained a wealth of knowledge and acquired more skills than I could have imagined when I first started working here,” Terrell said. He thrives on the collaborative nature of his work, engaging with multiple teams to contribute to the clinic’s ongoing growth and enhancement. “I have formed great working relationships and contacts that I know I will carry with me throughout my career,” Terrell said.

Born in Hattiesburg, Miss., and with ties to Centreville, Miss., Terrell has called several towns in the southern part of the state home, including Columbia, Pearl, Brandon and Purvis. He holds degrees from Jones College and The University of Southern Mississippi (USM). Before joining the clinic, he gained diverse experience working at Columbia Computers, Best Buy’s Geek Squad and in many other customer service-related positions. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Lacey Terrell, stepson, Hunter, and their dog, Charlie Brown. His hobbies include attending school functions, sporting events and taking trips with his loved ones. He also enjoys prioritizing physical fitness and spending time outdoors.

We extend our sincerest appreciation to James Terrell for his continued commitment to excellence. His dedication to ensuring smooth operations and his willingness to go above and beyond in his role within the IS department have been invaluable to our organization.
