Meet Bonnie Blackwell with Dermatology – West

Bonnie Blackwell is a cashier for Hattiesburg Clinic Dermatology – West. She has worked at Hattiesburg Clinic for 38 years; she started with Hattiesburg Clinic in September 1985. In her role, Mrs. Blackwell tracks and manages patient payments and assists patients with the check-in process.

Blackwell feels she gained a deeper sense of empathy during her time with Dermatology – West. As patients share their stories with her, positive or negative, she is always there when an open ear, loving heart and a big hug.   “Our team is like a family,” Blackwell said, “and we love our patients.“

She has spent 53 wonderful years with her husband and hopes for many more. Together she and her husband share two daughters and six grandchildren. Their first great-grandchild is on the way!

Blackwell was born in Fort Wayne, Ind. Her family relocated to Hattiesburg when she was five-years-old. She started working at Citizen’s Bank after she graduated from Hattiesburg High School. She was there for 16 years before joining the clinic.

In her spare time, Blackwell enjoys a good book and crocheting. She even finds peace in cleaning the house.
