Meet Mickey Breland with HealthWorks, LLC

Mickey Breland is a client services coordinator for HealthWorks, LLC, a service of Hattiesburg Clinic and Forrest General Hospital that provides occupational health and safety services. He has worked at Hattiesburg Clinic for 22 years.

In his role, Breland assists with physicals and screenings for potential employees preparing to start a new job. Helping these patients on their path to a job is his favorite part of the position.

“Being able to give patients a good report for a new job or to start school is what I enjoy most,” Breland said. “Helping our patients is why we’re here.”

Breland was born in Hattiesburg, Miss., and raised in Runnelstown, with two sisters and four brothers. After high school, he attended Jones College and returned to Hattiesburg, where he has lived for the past 26 years.

When he isn’t working, Breland finds enjoyment in old cars.

“I have both of my grandmothers’ vintage cars,” he said. “Washing and detailing them is the best therapy for me.”

His love of cars is not a recent hobby, though. At the age of 12, and several years shy of the legal driving age, Breland bought his first car – a Volkswagon Beetle. His older brother drove the car until Breland was old enough to get his license.

In his spare time, Breland enjoys swimming and hanging out with his two dogs.
