Daniel H. Smith, MD, is a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Surgery and Hattiesburg Clinic Weight Management.
Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Miss. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of South Alabama Health System in Mobile, Ala., and his residency in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.
Smith is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has a special practice interest in bariatric surgery. Smith serves as the medical director for Forrest General Hospital’s Weight Loss Surgery Services and Wound Healing Center.
At Hattiesburg Clinic Surgery, he provides comprehensive surgical care, including diagnostic and treatment services for the management of disease involving the digestive tract, breast, endocrine system, thyroid and vascular access, as well as surgical oncology for cancers such as breast, colorectal and stomach, and bariatric surgery.
At Hattiesburg Clinic Weight Management, he provides comprehensive care for individuals with increased body mass by addressing excess weight as a chronic condition, offering personalized consultations, dietary and exercise guidance, and prescription weight loss medication.
