Katherine P. Alexis, MD
Katherine P. Alexis, MD, is a family medicine physician in the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, located on the first floor of Hattiesburg Clinic. Dr. Alexis received her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Miss. She completed an internship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., where she also completed her residency in family medicine.
Dr. Alexis is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians.
In the FGH Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Alexis provides general family practice care to patients and supervises resident physicians who are completing their training in the program. Her goal as a provider is to teach patients about their illness and how to care for themselves.

The clinic is part of the Forrest General Family Medicine Residency Program and provides an opportunity for residents to gain experience with patients in a continuity clinic setting while the residents rotate through many different specialty rotations throughout the 3-year residency program.
