L. Wesley Aldred, MD, FACP
Aldred received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Miss. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center as well as a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care.
Aldred is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board eligible in critical care medicine. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. He has special practice interests in point-of-care ultrasound and advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy with endobronchial ultrasound.
ABOUT CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE
Hattiesburg Clinic Critical Care Medicine provides care to patients who are in need of life support or other intensive medical care. Critical Care Medicine services include the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of life-threatening medical problems. While Critical Care Medicine physicians are the primary provider of care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), they work alongside additional ICU professionals to develop a plan of care tailored to each patient. Critical Care Medicine and the Intensive Care Unit are located in Forrest General Hospital.
ABOUT PULMONARY MEDICINE
Hattiesburg Clinic Pulmonary Medicine provides prevention, diagnosis, treatment, critical care and rehabilitation of respiratory disorders in the adult patient, including COPD. This includes the diagnosis and management of interstitial lung diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, infectious lung disease and occupational lung disease, the treatment of drug-related pulmonary disorders and the diagnosis of carcinoma in suspected patients. Pulmonary Medicine provides full diagnostic services including fiberoptic bronchoscopy, thoracentesis with pleural biopsy, pulmonary function testing and exercise testing.
