Wheeler reappointed to Mississippi Board of Psychology

Lynwood C. Wheeler, PhD, ABPP, with Hattiesburg Clinic Psychology & Counseling was reappointed to the Mississippi Board of Psychology.

“It is an honor to have been re-appointed by Governor Reeves to serve on the Mississippi Board of Psychology,” Dr. Wheeler said. “In my previous tenure with the Board, we have worked to improve and expedite the licensing process to bring in qualified and caring professionals to the state. I look forward to continuing this work and broadening access to mental health resources in Mississippi.”

The Mississippi Board of Psychology consists of six Mississippi psychologists who regulate the practice of psychology to safeguard life, health, property and the public welfare of the citizens of Mississippi. The Board strives to prevent the unauthorized, unqualified and improper applications of psychology by examining education and training credentials, administering examinations for minimal competency to practice, requiring continuing professional education, investigating practice complaints and enacting penalties for violations of practice standards or ethical principles.

Wheeler provides outpatient counseling and psychological evaluations at Psychology & Counseling. Congratulations, Dr. Wheeler, on receiving this honor.
