Brittney J. Brown, DO, discusses signs and misconceptions about breast cancer and mammograms

Brittney J. Brown, DO, a physician at Hattiesburg Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology, recently spoke with a WDAM reporter about breast cancer signs and detection.

Women at the age of 40 with no history or breast cancer should receive annual mammograms. Per the Centers for Disease Control, about 264,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer.

“Normal women have lumps in their breasts and have dense breast tissue,” Brown said. “It’s really just important for you to know what your breasts feel like and what they look like.”
