Helping Our Community to Ease the Impact of Alzheimer’s

The ninth annual disentangleAD Caregiver Conference continues to make a meaningful impact on families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and Hattiesburg Clinic was proud to serve as a sponsor and participant in this year’s event on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026. The conference offered caregivers the opportunity to learn from Alzheimer’s disease experts, discover community resources and gain practical tools that help improve the quality of care for their loved ones while also prioritizing their own well-being.

With a mission to support and empower caregivers through education, financial assistance and access to local resources, disentangleAD provides support to those navigating the challenges of dementia care. The organization was founded by Ronald L. Schwartz, MD, CPI, a physician with Hattiesburg Clinic Neurology and Hattiesburg Clinic Memory Center.

“Caregivers play an essential role in the health and well-being of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias,” Dr. Schwartz said. “The disentangleAD Caregiver Conference provides valuable education, resources and encouragement that can help caregivers feel more confident and supported in their journey.

The conference featured speakers on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care, and attendees had the opportunity to connect with vendors, community partners and health care organizations offering support services for caregivers and their loved ones. The day concluded by giving participants the opportunity to hear from specialists and ask questions about the challenges and realities of dementia care.

Over many years, the Caregiver Conference has grown into a valuable community event that not only provides free educational opportunities for caregivers, but also, helps fund caregiver grants that offer services and support for local families. Through partnerships like this, disentangleAD and Hattiesburg Clinic continue to strengthen the continuum of care to help improve the lives of those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Hattiesburg Clinic is honored to support initiatives that empower caregivers, foster community connections and promote better health outcomes for patients and families across Mississippi. Visit www.disentanglead.com to learn more about disentangleAD.
