The WOW! Committee recently congratulated Evelyn Burkett, a lab tech with Hattiesburg Clinic Children’s Clinic for receiving Cheers from Your Peers. Evelyn is being recognized for her compassion, positivity and dedication to her patients and their families.
In a recent WOW! nomination, Greer Rushing, marketing manager at Hattiesburg Clinic, shared how Evelyn creates an immediate sense of comfort for the children and families she serves. From the moment patients walk into her area, Evelyn helps them feel at ease and builds trust through her warm, welcoming approach. She treats each child like family, bringing a sense of calm and reassurance to moments that can often feel uncertain for young patients.
While Evelyn is skilled in her role, her impact goes far beyond the clinical task at hand. She brings energy and joy into every interaction, often singing, dancing and engaging with her patients to create a positive experience. Her ability to turn lab visits into something approachable and comforting leaves a lasting impression on both patients and their families. As Greer shared, “It feels like magic.”
