Weight Management Welcomes Registered Dietitian, Adds Nutrition Wellness Educator

Hattiesburg Clinic Weight Management is pleased to offer nutritional services with Lisa J. Malone, MS, RDN, LDN, and Zachary T. Freeman, CMA, NASM-CNC, NASM-BHC.

Lisa J. Malone, MS, RDN, LDN is a registered dietitian and educator with nearly four decades of experience in clinical nutrition, health care leadership and evidence-based wellness counseling. A former director of a metabolic management clinic and faculty member at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss., Lisa specializes in metabolic health, weight management and behavior-focused nutrition guidance. Recognized with multiple professional awards, she combines science-based expertise with compassionate counseling to help individuals achieve lasting lifestyle change. 

Malone is board certified as a registered dietician by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a member of the Mississippi Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Diabetes Practice Group and the Functional Medicine Practice Group. 

At Weight Management, Malone works with patients to assess individualized nutrition needs that support overall health. With a focus on cellular health, she uses evidence-based nutrition strategies to support the body at the foundational level, helping optimize energy, reduce inflammation and promote long-term wellness.  Malone will provide registered dietitian services for patients with ongoing medical conditions, those who are preparing for or recovering from bariatric surgery or those who might need specialized care as determined by the Weight Management physicians.

Zachary T. Freeman, CMA, NASM-CNC, NASM-BHC, recently joined Weight Management as a Nutrition Wellness Educator. He is certified as a nutrition coach and behavior change specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. 

Freeman works alongside providers and Malone to deliver ongoing nutrition education, behavior change support and habit reinforcement. His services include meal planning, lifestyle modification, accountability between medical visits and goal setting as determined by the Weight Management physicians.

Together, Malone and Freeman assist to provide comprehensive, coordinated nutrition services designed to support sustainable weight management and long-term health.
