Hattiesburg Clinic Attends PRCC Women’s Health Symposium
Hattiesburg Clinic recently participated in the 2026 Women’s Health Symposium hosted by Pearl River Community College (PRCC), an annual event dedicated to improving the health and well-being of women across South Mississippi. Held on Saturday, Jan. 31, the symposium brought together health care professionals, community organizations and women from across the region to focus on education, prevention and access to care.
Mississippi continues to face some of the highest rates of female mortality in the United States due to health conditions such as heart disease, breast cancer and stroke. Women in the state also experience high rates of risk factors including high blood pressure, obesity and physical inactivity. With these challenges in mind, the Women’s Health Symposium was designed to address the most pressing health needs facing women in this area of the state.
A primary goal of the symposium is to raise awareness about the importance of lifestyle changes that can improve personal health and overall quality of life. Attendees had access to health screenings for concerns such as blood pressure, cholesterol and osteoporosis, along with educational sessions led by health care professionals and community leaders. Topics focused on general health, women’s health issues and other areas critical to physical, mental, emotional and social well-being.
Hattiesburg Clinic representatives attended to provide information and highlight the wide range of services available to women and families in the Pearl River County area. Services offered by Hattiesburg Clinic in this region include primary care and urgent care through Picayune Primary Care, The Poplarville Clinic and Immediate Care – Carriere. Specialty care options are also available through Hattiesburg Clinic Allergy, Asthma, Immunology – Picayune and Pearl River Dialysis Unit. Hattiesburg Clinic also offers additional specialty services such as Cardiology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Gastroenterology, Urology, Neurology, and Vascular Specialist through various outreach locations.
