Martin Retires after 22 Years

Hattiesburg Clinic would like to offer gratitude and best wishes to Tandy L. Martin, UNP, who has retired from Hattiesburg Clinic Urology after 22 years of service.

Inspired by family members in the medical field ¾ including her mother and aunt, both nurses, and her uncle, a physician ¾ Ms. Martin knew early on that she was called to serve others. Martin’s career has spanned multiple roles, including three years as an advanced care tech, seven years as a registered nurse and 12 years as a nurse practitioner.

Martin chose to focus on urological care when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer as she began her nurse practitioner program, guiding her path with both empathy and expertise.

“The most rewarding part of my career has been getting to know my patients and their families and helping improve their quality of life,” Martin shared. “Even on the tough days, remembering why we do this kept me motivated.”

She reflects fondly on her time at Hattiesburg Clinic, particularly the daily interactions with her “wonderful work family” and the supportive, caring environment within her department.

Looking forward, Martin is excited to spend more time with her family and explore new opportunities to stay connected with her community. While she will miss the daily rhythm of clinic life, the years of dedication and patient-centered care will continue to inspire those around her.
