Kim Fortenberry, selected as Hattiesburg Clinic’s Employee of the Quarter
Kim Fortenberry, MSN, BSN, RN, manager of Hattiesburg Clinic Maternal Fetal Medicine, and business manager of Hattiesburg Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology and Hattiesburg Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology – Lake Serene, has been selected as Hattiesburg Clinic’s Employee of the Quarter for her exceptional leadership, dedication and compassion.
Known for her selflessness and steady leadership, Fortenberry has earned the admiration and gratitude of her team for the way she supports both patients and staff. Lauren Byrd, administrative assistant, with Hattiesburg Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology, shared, “Our department is truly fortunate to have such an incredible boss. Kim goes above and beyond, not only ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care, but also, making sure her employees feel supported and valued.
She consistently puts others before herself, always prioritizing the needs of the team and the department. Her selflessness, dedication and leadership allow everything to run as smoothly as possible, and we are grateful every day for the compassion and commitment she brings to her role.”
Byrd also noted that Fortenberry takes on extra responsibilities when needed while handling her own workload with remarkable composure and grace. Fortenberry’s commitment to patient care is evident in the way she personally follows up with patients to ensure their experience reflects the high standards of care the department strives for.
A patient shared a personal experience that highlights Fortenberry’s compassion and dedication, “It was after hours on a Monday, and there was an issue with a prescription that had been called in. I was at the pharmacy and really needed this medication. I contacted Kim to see if she could help. Not only did she take the time to get back to me, but she also called the physician to assist in getting this issue fixed. Later that evening, she called to make sure I was able to get the medication and make sure everything worked out. I was so grateful that she took the time to assist me even though it was late and she probably had a million other things to do.”
Her compassion, reliability and strong sense of responsibility are qualities that stand out to everyone she works with. As Charlie Hardee, director of surgery service line, shared, “Kim represents the very best of what we hope for in an employee—consistently dependable, motivated and loyal. The Employee of the Quarter is selected from nominations by an employee’s peers, managers and patients, and is then chosen by the WOW! Committee, a team of people from all clinic levels.
As Employee of the Quarter, Fortenberry receives a bonus, a reserved parking spot for one quarter, one vacation day and an invitation to the clinic’s Annual Awards Banquet next year.
