Meet Jenny D. Bennett with Chart Audit

Jenny D. Bennett is a dedicated member of Hattiesburg Clinic’s Chart Audit team. She has been with Hattiesburg Clinic for almost 28 years. As an outpatient coder and account specialist, she is responsible for training new coders in the department, resolving coding denials, working on assigned workques and supporting the department.

When asked what Bennett enjoys most about her role at the clinic, she said “Coding is constantly evolving and never gets old. It is a hard job, but I love a challenge.” Working in Chart Audit has been especially rewarding for Bennett because of the strong management support system she has. “We work as a team to achieve our goals,” she said.

Throughout her time at the clinic, Bennett has gained a deeper understanding of health care from the beginning to the end. She credits her experiences with helping her advance her career and obtain knowledge about her field that she would not have otherwise.

Originally from Hattiesburg, Miss., Bennett graduated from Hattiesburg High School before starting at Hattiesburg Clinic Immediate Care. Outside of work, Bennett enjoys working on her farm, painting and drawing, and spending time with her new grandchild, CJ. When asked what might surprise people about her, she said, “probably nothing!” because she’s an open book.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

JDB: I can’t think of one meal, but I love cheese (all kinds)

What words would you use to describe yourself?

JDB: Loyal, funny, honest

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

JDB: To learn to speak Spanish and German.
