Hattiesburg Clinic Dermatology

Hattiesburg Clinic Dermatology is a comprehensive dermatology practice that evaluates and treats skin disorders. Ronald R. Lubritz, MD, FACP, FAAD, and Steven C. Shapiro, MD, are board-certified physicians who see adult and pediatric patients. They treat general skin disorders and those in need of surgical dermatology.

Patients can see providers on a consultant or primary care basis.

With almost 70 years of combined experience, Dr. Lubritz and Dr. Shapiro strive to provide quality care to match each patient’s needs. Trained in surgical procedures for noncancerous and cancerous skin tumors, they offer a comprehensive treatment plan for every patient.

Dermatology Services

General dermatology services include:

  • Acne (skin condition that occurs when hair follicles are filled with oil and dead skin cells)
  • Eczema (rough and inflamed patches of skin)
  • Moles and melanoma
  • Skin growths
  • Psoriasis (red, itchy patches of skin)
  • Rashes
  • Rosacea (a flushed appearance of the cheeks and nose)
  • Skin infections
  • Warts

Hattiesburg Clinic Dermatology also offers annual skin screenings. During the screening, the patient’s skin will be examined for suspicious lesions. If lesions are found, Dr. Lubritz or Dr. Shapiro will remove them and test for abnormalities. These screenings are a preventive service to help ensure that patients are aware of any risk of skin cancer.

Surgical dermatology services include:

  • Biopsy of skin lesions (skin that has an abnormal growth or appearance compared to the skin around it)
  • Surgical removal of skin lesions
  • Skin cancer evaluation and/or removal
  • Acne scar treatment 

Pediatric dermatology services include:

  • Birthmarks
  • Pigmentation disorders
  • Psoriasis
  • Rashes
  • Skin infections
  • Acne
