It’s February, and most people associate this month with love. During this time of year, most of us think of our loved ones and try to come up with ways to make sure they feel special. This year, I challenge you to do more for yourself, not just in February, but throughout the year.

We do things for others to make them feel special, so why not do it for ourselves? Whether you are in a relationship or not, we all like to feel loved and special.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant or even expensive, as long as you are investing time and energy into yourself. Here are some ideas that may help you get started.

  • Take time to read some encouraging words to start your day.
  • Listen to positive and uplifting music on the way to work or in your office.
  • Take a yoga, art, painting or pottery class or take a course you’ve longed to take and haven’t made a priority.
  • Schedule a massage or a visit to the nail salon.
  • Buy yourself a special lunch and eat it outdoors on a lovely day.
  • Buy a bouquet of fresh flowers to keep in your kitchen or workspace each week.
  • Plan a short trip.
  • Buy yourself a fancy new pen.

Hopefully, these ideas will help you think of a special treat to do for yourself. No matter how young or old we are, we all want to feel important and special and I hope you’ll take time to do that for yourself.
