Clinic’s Athletic Trainers Attend National Symposium in New Orleans

Athletic trainers from Hattiesburg Clinic Sports Medicine recently attended the National Athletic Trainers’ Association 69th Clinical Symposia & AT Expo in New Orleans.

The annual event caters to athletic trainers from all over, offering professional development through workshops, seminars and minicourses; networking with other professionals in the field; access to the latest innovations in the field, and more.

Several members of the Sports Medicine team represented Hattiesburg Clinic at this year’s symposium, which featured NFL Quarterback Drew Brees as the keynote speaker. The trainers had the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units required for their role.

“We go to be able to advance our education and skills in many areas that we are trained in,” said Sports Medicine Manager Gary Stroud.

Hattiesburg Clinic Sports Medicine’s Athletic Training component is a major service for student athletes throughout the Pine Belt community. Their certified athletic trainers offer field-side support through on-site injury evaluations, immediate care and follow-up attention to athletes at 25 area schools and junior colleges in Mississippi.
