Mallory Gives 10,000th COVID-19 Vaccination
Bryan N. Batson, MD, chief executive officer of Hattiesburg Clinic, recently rewarded Kieara Mallory, RN, BSN, a case manager with Quality Management, for administering the 10,000th COVID-19 vaccination.
“We recently honored one of our nurses who administered the 10,000th dose of the COVID-19 vaccine given at Hattiesburg Clinic. With her tireless service to our patients and an ever-present smile behind her mask, she embodies everything Hattiesburg Clinic strives to be in our dedication to the fight for better days ahead,” Dr. Batson said. “Please help us continue to inch our way forward by getting vaccinated when eligible and adhering to the other measures that we know help reduce the spread of this disease.”
Hattiesburg Clinic diagnosed the first case of COVID-19 in Mississippi and quickly rallied with Forrest General Hospital to open the Cough & Fever Clinic, a center of excellence for COVID-19 care.
The clinic continues to focus on providing quality care to Hattiesburg and surrounding areas; this includes providing easy and convenient ways for the public to access COVID-19 vaccinations. This led to the opening of the HealthWorks Immunization Clinic. The HealthWorks Immunization Clinic, a service of Hattiesburg Clinic and Forrest General Hospital, began offering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible groups in early January 2021. When vaccines are available, eligible patients may schedule an appointment through Iris, Hattiesburg Clinic’s online patient portal.
