AN UPDATE FROM HATTIESBURG CLINIC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TOMMY G. THORNTON, FACMPE
As we continue into this unconventional time, Hattiesburg Clinic wants to ensure you are receiving updated information regarding important health care services.
In accordance with updated national, state and local guidance, Hattiesburg Clinic will cautiously begin seeing more patients and resume certain elective surgery procedures. We encourage patients to communicate with their health care team, so they understand the extra measures we are taking in the best interest of their safety and the well-being of our physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff during this unprecedented time. Telehealth visits will be the priority for routine follow-up with patients.
Hattiesburg Clinic’s telehealth services are available for you to receive care while staying in the comfort of your home. Patients are encouraged to sign in early for their video visit to ensure a smooth check-in process and that they are ready for their video visit at the scheduled time. If you don’t have an Iris account or have questions, visit us at www.hattiesburgclinic.com/iris or call your provider’s office. They will help get you set up. We have also provided a step-by-step guide on our website. You can download the Iris app, “My Chart,” available on the App Store and Google Play.
At each of our locations, everyone who enters the clinic will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors, and all persons must wear a mask upon entering the building. Waiting room areas have designated seating arrangements so that we continue to abide by social distancing guidelines. Unless you are accompanying a minor or are an essential caregiver, we are not allowing visitors at this time. We have placed hand sanitizer units throughout each clinic location and frequently clean and disinfect all surfaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and uphold all other safety precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH).
Hattiesburg Clinic is now offering COVID-19 IgG antibody testing with the Abbott SARS CoV-2 antibody test. Patients can speak with their primary care provider to have an order placed for testing. Cost is $50; coverage by insurance carriers is not known at this time. For more information about antibody testing, and if it is right for you, please call your primary care physician.
Due to regulations requiring COVID-19 testing for patients prior to having surgery, Hattiesburg Clinic will soon be opening up a facility specifically to allow better access to these pre-operative services. Services include labs, X-rays, EKGs, and other medical services required for surgical clearance.
Thank you for trusting Hattiesburg Clinic with your care.
