AN UPDATE FROM HATTIESBURG CLINIC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TOMMY THORNTON, FACMPE
The COVID-19 epidemic is evolving rapidly, and on behalf of Hattiesburg Clinic, I would like to assure you that not only are we working with local and state officials, we are also working very hard at Hattiesburg Clinic to care for you, our patients.
Hattiesburg Clinic and Owl Drug Store are open! Our team of physicians, providers, staff, and pharmacists will remain open and committed to delivering care to our patients and serving the community. If you have any questions about your health, an upcoming visit, or a new or existing prescription, please contact your provider’s office or call Owl Drug Store. We understand that our patients have a lot of questions during this time. Our number one priority is to keep you safe and healthy.
Hattiesburg Clinic is offering telemedicine services! Telehealth is the use of video and voice technology to deliver health care services at a distance. The clinic’s live telehealth service allows patients to see and speak with a provider from the comfort of their home or office through a two-way video conference. And it’s easy! All you’ll need is a device with a camera, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer, as well as an active Iris account. If you don’t have an Iris account or have questions, visit us at www.hattiesburgclinic.com/iris or call your provider’s office. They will help get you set up. If you need additional help regarding how to set up your telehealth visit, we have provided a step-by-step guide on our website.
Hattiesburg Clinic, in partnership with Forrest General Hospital, opened the Cough & Fever Clinic for patients who are specifically experiencing cough, fever, and shortness of breath. The Cough & Fever Clinic, located at 5909 Hwy. 49, in Hattiesburg, is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. While the clinic accepts walk-in appointments, patients should contact their primary care physician (PCP) prior to visiting this newly established clinic. For additional questions, patients can contact the Cough & Fever Clinic at (601) 261-1533.
Additionally, the Cough & Fever Clinic now offers curbside testing for COVID-19. Patients must schedule an appointment online at www.curbsidecovid.com, and all appointments must be scheduled at least three hours in advance. (For patients with an Iris account, you will have the option to schedule these appointments through Iris once you begin the process through www.curbsidecovid.com. Iris is the preferred method of scheduling appointments.) Drive-thru testing is not available at this time. Click here for more information and guidelines for curbside testing.
Thank you for trusting Hattiesburg Clinic with your care.
