Congratulations to our Providers

Please join us in congratulating Mary M. Assaad, MD; Todd Benton, MD; Keith Jones, MD; and  Rambod Rouhbakhsh, MD, for receiving Philip Rogers Awards from Forrest General Hospital. Gregg Anazia, MD, was awarded the hospital’s We C.A.R.E. Physician Award.

Mary M. Assaad, MD

Assad, with Hattiesburg Clinic Critical Care Medicine, received the Philip Rogers Innovator Award for exemplifying leadership and innovation in her role in the Forrest General Hospital ICU.When the coronavirus pandemic began, Dr. Assaad proactively formulated protocols to be used for CPR, intubation, extubation, and the like in an effort to keep the Forrest General staff safe. She used her off time to make educational videos for nursing staff and made at least one box to safely intubate a COVID-19 patient

Todd Benton, MD

Benton, with The Pediatric Clinic, received the Philip Rogers Advocate Award for taking the time to research the procedure, medications and staffing requirements for a young patient to receive care at Forrest General Hospital because traveling out of town on a regular basis caused emotional and financial strain on the family.

Keith Jones, MD

Jones, with Hattiesburg Clinic Neurology, was awarded with the Philip Rogers Mentor Award for encouraging and supporting staff while continuously driving positive patient experiences. He has also developed an award-winning program for stroke patients.

Rambod Rouhbakhsh, MD

Rouhbakhsh, principal investigator with Hattiesburg Clinic MediSync Clinical Research and director of the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic was presented with the Philip Rogers Leadership Award. During the pandemic, he has proven himself to be an exceptional spokesperson for the Hattiesburg Clinic and Forrest General Hospital.

Gregg Anazia, MD

Anazia, with Hattiesburg Clinic Hospital Care, received the We C.A.R.E. Physician Award for exemplifying the values of Forrest General Hospital. He is loved and appreciated by his patients, and he is a proud team player.  He goes above and beyond to assist his fellow employees, no matter the task.
