COVID-19 Brings New Reason to Get Your Flu Shot
This year’s flu season presents a new set of risks with COVID-19 still looming. And according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is possible to have the flu and COVID-19 at the same time.
The CDC recommends yearly vaccination for people 6 months and older, especially those who are at a high risk of serious complications from the illness.
As a convenience to our patients, Hattiesburg Clinic is offering a flu vaccination clinic Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., next to the Laboratory department on the first floor of our main clinic. Flu vaccinations will also be offered at other Hattiesburg Clinic primary care and immediate care clinics throughout 18 counties in South Mississippi. Please contact your local primary care provider or immediate care as hours may vary.
The flu vaccination clinic is available to the general public during the flu season. Most health insurances cover flu vaccinations, however, we ask that you check with your insurance provider regarding any cost-sharing responsibilities.
To learn more about the flu and how to prevent it, visit www.hattiesburgclinic.com/flu or talk to your primary care provider. For questions about the walk-in flu vaccination clinic, call (601) 261-1620.
