Clinic Holds 16th Annual ADHD Conference

More Than 500 Attend 16th Annual ADHD Conference

More than 500 professionals, parents and caregivers from across Mississippi attended the 16th Annual ADHD and Related Concerns Conference, held Oct. 17-18, at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.

The event, hosted by Hattiesburg Clinic’s Connections and Psychology & Counseling departments and organized by Emerge Events, serves as a learning and networking opportunity for professionals and parents.

This year’s conference covered behavioral and mental health topics ranging from ADHD and coexisting disorders to stress management, sleep problems, childhood immunization, etc. Attendees were also able to obtain Continuing Education Units (CEU’s).

Featured keynote speakers included author/speaker Mark Patey and Move to Learn Coach Larry Calhoun, along with Athletic Trainer Dale Dieckman, with the Mississippi Department of Education.

“We were excited to welcome more than 500 attendees to the conference this year. That, combined with fantastic speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors, really made for a great event,” said Jennifer Clark, owner of Emerge Events. “We hope everyone who attended took away useful information, connections and other resources that they can use.”

Walton Mallette, manager for Connections and Psychology & Counseling, said they are proud the event is such a major resource for so many different types of people.

“Connections and Psychology & Counseling value the impact that parents, educators, administrators, and other clinicians have on our community as a whole. We believe that equipping our community with a better understanding of ADHD and coexisting disorders is critical in positively impacting our patients’ lives,” said Mallette.
