AN UPDATE FROM HATTIESBURG CLINIC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TOMMY G. THORNTON, FACMPE

As we continue into this unconventional time, Hattiesburg Clinic wants to ensure you are receiving updated information.

Hattiesburg Clinic is working with city and state officials regarding how we will provide care for our patients in the near future as the shelter-in-place order is updated and as we move into a recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.  As always, the safety and health of our patients, employees, and providers will remain our top priority as we plan ahead. We will continue to communicate updates to our patients during this process.  It is imperative that our patients maintain good communication with their provider regarding their care.

In line with the latest guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), we have revised our visiting policy. Unless you are accompanying a minor (17 years old and under) or you are an essential caregiver, we are not allowing visitors at this time, and all patients and caregivers entering the building must wear a mask. All visitors to our clinics will be screened for symptoms and COVID-19.

It is extremely important that infants and toddlers, particularly those who are two years old and younger, continue seeing their pediatrician for their wellness checkups and immunizations. Vaccines are an essential service and now is not the time to delay or reschedule your child’s immunizations. By delaying your child’s vaccination, you put your child at risk for measles and other life-threatening illnesses later.

All Hattiesburg Clinic pediatric services and clinics are open, and we have taken great measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19 to ensure you and your child’s safety. For more information, please call your pediatrician or contact one of our pediatric clinics: Children’s Clinic (Hattiesburg): (601) 261-3500; Children’s Clinic – Petal (601) 705-0260; and The Pediatric Clinic (601) 579-3000.

Thank you for trusting Hattiesburg Clinic with your care.
