Dr. Kent has been in practice since 1981 and joined Hattiesburg Clinic in 1997. Dr. Kent received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He has a special interest in patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Dr. Kent and his wife Anne, have three children, Emily, James and Grace. He is a member of Temple Baptist Church and participates on the weekly radio show, The Methodist Hour. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking, gardening and playing golf. “Watching students and their families grow together and overcome difficulties in their lives is the most rewarding part of my profession.” Ronald Kent, M.D Robert C. Sevier, Ph.D. Dr. Sevier has been in practice since 1996 and joined Hattiesburg Clinic in 2006. Dr. Sevier received his doctoral degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. He completed an internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Sevier’s special interests include ADHD assessments for children, adolescents and adults, educational assessments, and evaluations for mood or anxiety, behavioral and developmental disorders. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Mississippi Brain Injury Association and a past president of the Mississippi Psychological Association. Dr. Sevier and his wife Amy, are the parents of a son, Christian, and attend St. John’s Episcopal Church in Laurel. In his spare time, Dr. Sevier enjoys playing the piano, doing yard work and reading a good best seller. “Working with individuals of all ages in this family-focused and family-friendly environment makes getting up each day a joy!” Robert Sevier, Ph.D. Lynwood C. Wheeler, Ph.D., ABPP Dr. Wheeler has been in practice since 1991 and joined Hattiesburg Clinic in 2006. Dr. Wheeler received his doctoral degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Wheeler’s practice focuses on individual, couples and family counseling for a wide variety of needs including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, post traumatic stress, panic and obsessive compulsive disorders. Christian counseling and the integration of faith into counseling may also be requested. Dr. Wheeler is a fellow of the American Academy of Counseling Psychology and a member of the American Psychological Association, the Mississippi Psychological Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. Dr. Wheeler and his wife Lauren have one child, Clinton. Dr. Wheeler is a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and enjoys cycling, movies, and Red Sox baseball. “I love being part of this positive team of people working toward a common goal and seeing patients reach their potential.” Lynwood C. Wheeler, Ph.D., ABPP Beverly J. Bryant, M.D. Dr. Bryant joined Hattiesburg Clinic in 2004. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1985. Dr. Bryant completed a residency in psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship through Yale Child Study Center. She is certified by the Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult as well as child and adolescent psychiatry. As a member of the clinical faculty of the Menninger Clinic, she served as the program director for the Eating Disorder/Trauma Recovery Unit and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Program. Dr. Bryant has a special interest in patients with Bipolar disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. In her spare time Dr. Bryant volunteers as an instructor for children at Hattiesburg Tae Kwon Do Academy. She is married and has two children. “It’s a privilege to be able to connect with my patients and be a part of their recovery.” Beverly Bryant, M.D. Martha P. Woodall, M.S., CCC/SLP Ms. Woodall has been in practice since 1969 and joined Hattiesburg Clinic in 1990 . Ms. Woodall received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from the “Fulfillment is going down the hall and having a child beaming up at me saying ‘Miss Marty, look at my report card!’” Martha Woodall, M.S., CCC/SLP Joshua R. Hamm, M.S., LPC Joshua Hamm joined Connections in 2007. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. He completed an internship at Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources in child and family therapy. Mr. Hamm is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in parent training and child behavior management. He also works with younger children focusing on social skills training, anger management, and treatment for anxiety and depressive disorders. He attends Crestview Baptist Church and is an avid University of Southern Mississippi fan. Melanie Harrison, RN, BSN, MSN, CPNP Melanie Harrison joined the Connections team in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi. She received her Master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. Ms. Harrison is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society. |
