Are you ready to rise and shine?

Join us on Saturday, April 5, 2014 as we host the 3rd Annual Rise & Shine Half-Marathon and 5K! Participants will run a scenic, well-marked course to benefit The Arc, a local nonprofit in Hattiesburg.

The 5K and half-marathon routes will both begin and finish at Hattiesburg Clinic’s main campus location (415 S. 28th Avenue). Participants for both races will run through charming Hattiesburg neighborhoods. At mile three, 5K runners will finish back at the clinic and half-marathon runners will proceed north on 28th Avenue – making their way to the campus of Southern Miss.

Same-day registration and bag pick-up will begin at 6 a.m. and the race will begin at 7 a.m.

Cash prizes and awards (provided by Soccer Locker) will be available to the following half-marathon participants:

1ST PLACE             $300 MALE          $300 FEMALE

2ND PLACE            $200 MALE          $200 FEMALE

3RD PLACE            $100 MALE          $100 FEMALE

Additional awards will be given for Master, Grandmaster and 1st and 2nd Place Male and Female finishers in 10-year age groups for the half-marathon, as well as the 5k’s Top 3 Males and the Top 3 Females for the 5K.

All participants will receive/have access to:

  • Early bag pick up at Soccer Locker on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Race T-shirt (only guaranteed to those who register by March 21)
  • Race bag
  • Hand-made pottery by The Arc
  • Digital photo of race finish provided by Snap It Sports
  • Finisher medal (for half-marathon participants)
  • Post-race refreshments
  • Post-race massage tent
  • Entertainment by Charles Carter
  • After-race photo opportunities
  • Running merchandise for sale, provided on-site by Soccer Locker

Registration will open Monday, January 13 and be accessible here.

Half-Marathon: $55*

5K: $30*

*Same-day registration is an additional $10 for each race. Pine Belt Pacers receive a $5 discount.

The Arc of Southeast Mississippi is a United Way non-profit organization devoted to providing community-based services to individuals with mental challenges and their families. In addition, the Arc promotes and encourages the acceptance of those with mental disabilities by exposure to, and interaction with, people in our community.
